Dr. Covington is well educated and trained.
He earned a B.A. in biology at Brown
University and obtained his M.D. from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Covington was on the faculty and director of an allergy clinic at Howard
University Hospital, Washington, D.C., where he also engaged in allergy and
asthma research.
Dr. Covington became Board Certified in Allergy and Immunology in 1993 and
was recertified in 2001. His accomplishments were recognized when he was awarded
the status of Fellow in the American College
of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. He is a member of the American Medical Association,
North Carolina Medical Society and American Academy
of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
Dr. Covington is active in the communities he serves as a member of the North
Carolina Wesleyan College Board of Visitors and on the Board of Directors for the Rocky Mount OIC. Dr. Covington and his wife, Cindy, have four children, Alie, Simon and twins Pilar and Meta.
